Moreover, you can hit a handful of properties without repercussions. Pedestrians, on the other hand, appear out of nowhere at the most inopportune time. Homeowners are easy enough to avoid if you hide in the shadows. It drives slowly and often hits pedestrians, rendering escape utterly pointless. Even the cars in the Far Cry games are better. However, The Thief's getaway car is more of a hindrance than a help. ![]() You can also drive away, especially if the cops are called after you trip over the alarm system. You can hide within and around the homes - including garbage bins and closets. They appear with white silhouettes, so you can track their movements. To add a challenge, the occupants sometimes appear while you are in the act of stealing. Selling your stolen items to the pawnshop will gain you cash, while more specific items can be sold off on the black market. Pulling off simple jobs will earn you XP, letting you buy better thieving skills. As your thief skill tree develops, you get more options as to how you want to steal. You can also get access to some equipment to make your missions a little easier. However, as the game progresses, you will learn how to pick locks to gain access to homes without making noise. You'll start your string of B-and-Es by using a crowbar to smash a window and steal some saucepans and kettles. It works by slowly introducing you to the mechanics. The game is more of a cross between the Thief games and Payday 2. What you'll get is a handful of neighborhoods, each home filled with precious valuables. To be fair, most simulators are pretty rough around the edges. While it is a sandbox game at the core, it doesn't have huge open worlds where you can steal en masse like in the Grand Theft Auto series, either. Who the hell pays full price for anything? I've paid less for actual AAA games and some GOAT's on Steam. If you buy it at full price then well you're just a dumb ass lol and yeah, it's definitely not worth that much. I personally don't regret the £2 I paid for the game. There's fun to be had if you enjoy stealth games and have a lot of patience but I think the AI really lets it down. Mini games and stealing certain, special items to sell on BlackBay and furnishing/decorating your hideout if you want. There's achievements and other little things you can do in the game. ![]() It'd be cool if you could knock people out or be more creative. It definitely gets repetitive as others have said and more frustrating later on with more security/cameras and anti-glass cutting windows that trigger alarms (who the hell even has them?). If you're caught you're instantly tasered and the police just have to touch your car with theirs for them to catch you.īut I've had some fun for sure, especially for the first part of the game. Stealth is hard to do but at least games like Skyrim or Fallout have save scumming so you can just F9 and try again (nice and chill). Now if you could save scum, this wouldn't be a problem. Anything like that will instantly get you detected and the police called automatically and if you're caught you have to start all over again from a checkpoint. ![]() The stealth/AI is especially bad and a lot of things are just dumb, in my opinion.Įvery little thing will get you detected - you have to make sure to close doors behind you, lock doors you've unlocked and put everything back to how it was.
